Kindergarten Information

In 2024-2025, we will be offering AM, PM, full-day, and progressive full-day Kindergarten.

Progressive full-day starts with half days, and then we add full days as the child/family is ready; cost will vary based on number of days. This is not an alternating thing, and we will have a pre-designed template for how it looks, so pre-Christmas half days, then after-Christmas we start adding some full days.

Kinosayo Kindergarten offers a program that embraces each child wherever they are in their learning journey and together we embark on an adventure to stretch and grow in a fun-filled environment.

What is Kindergarten like at Kinosayo?

We provide a safe place to take risks, try new things, encourage, accept, and celebrate victories and oopses! We foster socialization and positive relationships while respecting individuality. We learn to be “one of many” through collaboration and compromise which is often a big step for children when Kindergarten is their first chance to be part of a large group.

Our Kindergarten also offers opportunities to be creative and the freedom to be five and six years old. We have a variety of media to work with to let us express ourselves and try new things - paint, crayons, playdough, glue, scissors, dramatic play, technology, physical activity, kinder-cooking, working with and respecting nature both in and out of the classroom. We try life on and learn to give our best effort in all we do.

We strive to start our student's school career positively to promote life-long learners who have been exposed to a variety of learning centres that meshes with their interests and abilities while challenging themselves to do hard things! We instill confidence, master basic manners and common courtesies, and develop our imaginations.

Our philosophy is to create learning opportunities through play. Centres and thematic units based on what the children are interested in leads to a successful transfer of knowledge. Repetition, encouragement, practice, exploration, and praise are keys to our success.

“Take chances, make mistakes, get messy!”

~ Miss Frizzle
